Zadar Self-Guided City Walk

Zadar, located on the Dalmatian Coast of the Adriatic Sea, is Croatia’s 5th largest city. It is also the oldest continually inhabited city in the country. This Zadar Self-Guided City Walk will help you discover the 3,000 years of history this city boasts.

The Old Town is known for the Roman, Byzantine and Venetian ruins, and the Venetian gates in the city walls. Surrounding the Roman-era Forum is 11th-century St. Mary’s Convent, with religious art dating to the 8th century.

There’s also the 12th-century St. Anastasia’s Cathedral with its Bell Tower, and the round, 9th-century pre-romanesque Church of St. Donatus.

Walking path distance 3.3km/2.1 miles on a flat surface, with the only climb up the bell tower.
