Iberian Countries City Walks

Embark on a captivating journey through the Iberian Countries of Portugal and Spain with these seven city walks. Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona, Madrid (East), Madrid (West), Seville and Valencia.

Each guide takes you to at least 20 of the most iconic locations of each city. We provide a link to Google Maps, allowing you to see your location in relation to the walking path and each location.

In Lisbon, wander through the historic Alfama district, explore the vibrant Baixa, and ascend to the iconic Belém Tower. Porto invites you to stroll along the Douro River, admire the majestic Dom Luís I Bridge, and savour the local port wine in its charming cellars.

Cross into Spain, where Barcelona’s walk reveals the enchanting Gothic Quarter, Gaudí’s architectural marvels, and the bustling La Rambla. In Seville, immerse yourself in flamenco culture, visit the awe-inspiring Seville Cathedral, and enjoy the serene Plaza de España. Valencia’s route showcases the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, the historic Mercado Central, and the tranquil Turia Gardens.

Madrid offers two distinct experiences: the west side tour covers the Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral, and the lush Sabatini Gardens, while the east side walk explores the bustling Puerta del Sol, the majestic Prado Museum, and the vibrant Retiro Park.

Each of these seven walks is designed to uncover the essence of these cities at your own pace.

Madrid (West) City Walk

This Madrid (West) City Walk will show you some stunning architecture, huge plazas, beautiful religious buildings, and great places to eat.

Madrid is Spain’s capital, located in the center of the country. It is a city of wonderful plaza’s, expansive parks, elegant palaces, vibrant shopping areas, and food districts.

The architecture of Madrid is some of the most stunning in the world, so be sure to look in all directions, including up, as you walk.

Not to be missed sites include the stunning squares Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol; the magnificent Royal Palace; and the Egyptian temple donated to Spain.

This is one of two walks (West and East) we have produced for this amazing city.

Walk Distance approximately 6 km / 3.7 miles on a flat surface.

The Madrid (East) City Walk introduces the wonderful museums, fabulous fountains, expansive parks and stunning architecture in the city.

Madrid is Spain’s capital, located in the centre of the country. It is a city of plazas, parks, palaces, vibrant shopping areas, and food districts.

The architecture of Madrid is some of the most stunning in the world, so be sure to look in all directions, including up, as you walk.

Not to be missed sites on this walk include the Paseo del Arte walk, including the world-famous Prado Museum; the view from the Communications Palace; and the best sandwich shop in Madrid.

This is one of two walks (East and West sides) we have produced for this amazing city.
