Ljubljana Self-Guided City Walk
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a beautiful city with an interesting and rich history. The city’s centre is very compact and walkable—in fact, cars are not allowed. The city looks like something out of a fairytale.
Dating back to Roman times, its roots run deep, evidenced by remnants of ancient settlements scattered throughout. However, it was during the Middle Ages that Ljubljana flourished, becoming a bustling trade hub along the crossroads of Europe.
This walk takes you to the most popular sites, including stunning churches, fascinating bridges, markets, squares and a castle high above the city that can be accessed by a funicular.
Walk Distance 2.5-3 km / 1.5-2 miles flat unless you walk up to the castle.
