Verona – Self-Guided City Walk
Verona owes its international fame to the Shakespearean tragedy Romeo and Juliet, so of course visits to their homes must be included in any visit here despite the crowds.
But there is so much more to this city – its ancient past of medieval and renaissance splendour; the Roman Arena, which is still used nearly 2000 years after its construction; the Castelvecchio bridge and museum are outstanding, as is the Lamberti Tower.
Verona is truly a place worthy of several days of exploration, even if you are not a fan of Shakespeare.
Walk Distance 4.0km / 2.5 miles mostly flat.
