Bucharest City Walk

Bucharest City Walk

This Bucharest city walk takes you through the bustling capital city of Romania. It is a city impacted by war, earthquakes and the personal ego of a dictator.

Romanian legend has it that the city of Bucharest was founded on the banks of the Dambovita River by a shepherd named Bucur, whose name literally means “joy.”

Despite its recent history of communist-era concrete constructions, there are some areas that retain a hint of past glory.

This walk will take you to the heaviest building in the world, the historic Lipscani district, where remnants of the ‘Paris of the East’ still can be seen, and into some fine religious buildings.

Walk Distance 6km / 3.7 miles, on a mostly flat path.
